Mindgrub Partners with University of Maryland to Advance Diversity in Tech Through AI-Focused Sprinternship™ Program
BALTIMORE, January 6, 2025 |
Mindgrub Technologies is proud to announce its partnership with the University of Maryland as part of the Break Through Tech Sprinternship™ program. This initiative is designed to provide first and second-year undergraduate students with real-world experience in computing-related fields, emphasizing opportunities for women, nonbinary individuals, and other underrepresented groups in technology.
From January 6–24, 2025, three talented University of Maryland students—two computer science majors and one information science major—will join Mindgrub for an immersive, three-week Sprinternship™ experience. During their time with the company, these budding technologists will explore transformative AI applications across multiple industries, complete two certification courses in AI design, and collaborate with Mindgrub’s expert team to develop an innovative AI assistant.
“We are thrilled to partner with the University of Maryland and Break Through Tech to empower the next generation of diverse tech leaders,” said Todd Marks, Founder and CEO of Mindgrub. “This program reflects our commitment to creating inclusive pathways into technology and leveraging innovation to drive change.”
Launched in Washington, DC, in 2022, Break Through Tech’s Sprinternship™ program provides students with a unique opportunity to tackle real-world business challenges, build professional networks, and strengthen their resumes. These paid micro-internships immerse students in the culture and expertise of leading organizations like Mindgrub, equipping them with the skills and connections they need to succeed in the tech industry.
“We are excited that our students will have the opportunity to work with Mindgrub this January through our Sprinternship program,” said Caitlin Rudy, site lead for Break Through Tech DC and Program Manager for Industry Partnerships at the Iribe Initiative for Inclusion and Diversity in Computing. “Getting that real-world tech industry experience is a huge first step for our students. We are proud of the network of industry partners who have stepped up to be a part of a more inclusive tech ecosystem.”
