Mindgrub Welcomes Kevin Giffhorn as Education Engagement Director

BALTIMORE, June 18, 2024 | 

Mindgrub Technologies is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Giffhorn as the new Engagement Director for education, effective June 17. With an extensive background in education, technology, and leadership, Kevin brings a wealth of experience and a passion for innovation that will be instrumental in driving Mindgrub’s continued growth and success.

Kevin Giffhorn is a nationally board-certified classroom educator with over 25 years of experience spanning K-12 and college levels. His dedication to enhancing educational outcomes is exemplified by his founding of WeLearn Educational Software and the development of the eNotebook note-taking app for the iPad–tools that have revolutionized how students engage with learning materials. Furthermore, Kevin was a celebrated adjunct professor for McDaniel College, Carroll Community College, and Hood College. 

Kevin has been recognized throughout his career with numerous awards, including the Maryland High School Math Teacher of the Year and the Carroll County (MD) Teacher of the Year. He was also honored with the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) Excellence in Academic Leadership Award for Project ExCITE. His contributions to education are further highlighted by his receipt of the prestigious Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund award.

In addition to his educational achievements, Kevin has a diverse background, including engineering sales experience with Matthews International and significant contributions to educational leadership as a member of the Hood College Advisory Board for Math Education and Instructional Leadership. His leadership skills were honed during his service as an Army Field Artillery Captain, where he developed a strong foundation in strategic planning and team management.

Kevin has also made a profound impact through his role as the Director of Mathematics for the D.C. College Success Foundation Summer Academic Enrichment Program at McDaniel College. This program, largely funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has benefited over 280 students from Anacostia, Washington D.C., providing them with the academic support and enrichment necessary for college success.
