Sr Technical Project Manager

Mindgrub is seeking to fill the position of Senior Technical Project Manager with a detail-oriented, confident, and critical thinker, who enjoys working closely with all project team members to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on-budget, and within scope.

Our ideal candidate is someone who has experience in software engineering, but is also passionate about project management and who can drive project success independently, while serves as the team’s champion throughout the entire project life cycle. The Senior Technical Project Manager facilitates the day-to-day priorities with energy and authority knowing when and how to adjust their communication and management style when relaying direction to a multi-disciplinary internal team of strategy, creative, and technology partners.

As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will collaborate with a dynamic in-house team of engagement directors, account managers, engineers, designers, user experience architects, quality assurance testers, and marketing experts, to deliver the highest quality products that you will be proud to add to your repertoire! Depending on project priorities, your daily contributions would include, stand-ups, internal communication/ meetings with project teams, tracking progress of deliverables, status updates/ reports to stakeholders, removing impediments to ensure successful project execution, and wearing your “brain” cap to ensure project management and project process is a well-oiled, efficient machine.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to clearly create/ define technical acceptance criteria for project team tasking
  • Clearly communicate technical needs to the project team and the client
  • Challenges developer’s conceptual thinking and guides them to the correct solutions, when necessary
  • Daily collaboration with internal team members, Account Managers, and Engagement Directors to communicate project health and adjusting priorities
  • Thinking critically to offer solutions that will improve project process and/ or project health
  • Proactively acknowledge roadblocks and ensure all team members remain unblocked
  • As ScrumMaster/ Agile Project Manager, facilitate daily stand-up and bi-weekly planning meetings, creation/maintenance of project backlog, accurately track iteration tasks, and proactively identify risks
  • Development/ management of project plans, timelines, budgets, reports, and necessary project documentation
  • Facilitate multiple touch-points with project team on a bi-weekly basis to review progress, backlog health, and quality of work delivered by the team
  • Lead a cross-functional team through multiple projects with a high degree of confidence, independence, and sound judgment
  • Assist the Account Manager with documenting the needs of the client and translate them into requirements
  • Assist the Engagement Director in negotiating tradeoffs to meet budget and release schedule
  • Implement and improve best practices during the project life cycle
  • Provide guidance to all team members for every aspect of the project so that the team members can understand their tasks fully and act on them efficiently
  • Identify internal staffing needs required to complete the project successfully and efficiently
  • Research latest strategies, tools and techniques used in project management to promote and adopt in house to increase productivity
  • Work closely with project leads to distribute tasking according to the skills of team members and develop appropriate strategies for achieving project goals
  • Work closely with the Account Manager and Engagement Director to set realistic goals for the project and ensure project success criteria is achieved

REQUIREMENTS

  • Exceptional experience with version control and how it fits into the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Exceptional experience with implementing third party technologies, and collaborating on tech stacks
  • Exceptional oral and written communication
  • Exceptional servant leadership style
  • Exceptional problem solving and conceptual skills to recommend approaches and methods
  • Demonstrated technical background in architecture and systems integration; specifically experience with how systems fit together and how to usher the moving pieces from project conception to completion
  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated skilled knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Exceptional with communicating internally, and externally as needed, translating dev speak to client speak and vice versa
  • Exceptional leadership while working well under pressure to deliver the highest quality deliverables
  • Exceptional presentation skills and comfortable speaking during internal/client meetings
  • Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional ability to oversee project teams and fully independently manage multiple projects with no assistance

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Combined 8+ years project/account management experience in a client-facing role; agency experience preferred
  • Experience working with accounts of all sizes from small businesses to enterprise level clients
  • Thirst for knowledge and always ready to learn more
  • PMP, CSM, Agile- related certification, or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience working on a wide variety of digital projects, including web and mobile
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet
